‘Medallion Behavioral Health was established in May of 1996. Medallion Behavioral Health is a partial care program servicing adults with chronic psychiatric illness. An integral part of the community mental health system, partial care evolved from the deinstitutionalization movement of the 1960s. With advancements in medication and therapy, previously institutionalized patients could now be transitioned back into the community. At it’s inception, the intent of Medallion Behavioral Health was to provide a place of safety and inclusion for an otherwise vulnerable population. What began with a vision, modest staff, and handful of clients, flourished into the partial care program it is today. Relocating to Paterson, New Jersey in February of 2019, Medallion Behavioral Health continues to thrive, providing a beacon of light, compassion, integrity and professionalism within the community.
